buildingSMART International (bSI) is a parent body for global buildingSMART community that drives open standardisation and digital change throughout the built environment.

buildingSMART International (bSI) was founded in 1995 and it has since then been focused on solving the industry's interoperability challenges. buildingSMART International is a neutral, international forum, where we propose, develop, create and modify open digital strandards for BIM processes.

The buildingSMART community is committed to creating and developing open digital practices to the built environment. buildingSMART standards help owners and the entire supply chain to work more efficiently and in cooperation the entire project life cycle. 

The international network of buildingSMART consists of Chapters, members, partners and sponsors, which buildingSMART International leads. Chapters are independent actors acting in their home laws within. buildingSMART Finland is bSI's Chapter.

buildingSMART International is leading digital change. Solutions and standards developed by bSI allow better cooperation and digital flow.

OpenBIM

At the heart of buildingSMART International's development is openBIM, which improves the availability, usability, management and sustainability of digital data in the construction, while it is a supplier -neutral cooperation process. openBIM increases the change in the environment built into the key.

buildingSMART International is an open, neutral and non -profit international organization that aims to create and maintain international standards and solutions.

Chapters are national member organizations that share the vision and goals of buildingSMART International. Chapters develop and advertise the use of open data standards and BIM in their own countries and promote the strength of buildinSMART standards and user programs. 

Chapters play an important role in their areas to meet the needs of their own countries. Chapters have, or they build, significant user associations of the environment built around the environment and provide services that are relevant and meet users' needs.

buildingSMART Finland is a Chapter member on the buildingSMART network. We actively participate in international activities and act as communicators between the international side and our own members.
