RYTV Project Program
The objective of the multi-year RYTV project programme is to standardise and harmonise built environment information modelling in Finland. Standardisation enables information to flow throughout the entire lifecycle of the built environment. When information is produced and managed in a machine-readable format, industry processes can be automated. Therefore, standardising information modelling is a fundamental prerequisite for achieving AECO sector's promises and goals for a functional, safe, growing, and sustainable built environment in the future.
The goals of the AECO sector are thus achieved by creating unified information modelling requirements, ensuring accessibility to information modelling, and institutionalising information modelling as a practice throughout all phases of the built environment's lifecycle. Standardisation must be carried out collectively and uniformly across the entire industry!

Project Program Vision
Project Program step by step
1. RYTV – Unified information model requirements for the built environment
New and modular RYTV: Formats, terminology, information guidelines, coding and the common guidelines of standardisation
2. Information modeling is accessible to everyone
Easily accessible instructions, educational programs, vocational courses and self-studying
Change management, removing obstacles
3. BIM is an established workflow across the entire lifecycle of the built environment
Research → development → piloting → reclamation → benefits→ tracking
Long-term results
Quality of life and environment improves, sustainable use of resources
Long lasting products and innovations, dynamic economy
Improved efficiency and well-being in organisations
Why are the RYTV project program and collaboration important in standardizing information modeling?
Johanna Akkanen (city of Turku) had an interesting presentation about the importance of cooperation. Presentation is in Finnish.
Let's work together to make BIM a standard workflow across the entire lifecycle of the built environment.
This is a prerequisite for achieving the sustainable development goals!
Project Program project flow from initiative to launch
1
Projektialoitteen luominen
Anyone, including those outside the buildingSMART Finland network, can create a project initiative.
There are no other requirements for the project initiative, except that it involves promoting standardization in the built environment.
How to create a project initiative
2
Project Proposal
Once the project initiative is reviewed, the next step is to create a more detailed project proposal. The proposal is approved by the RYTV Steering Committee.
Based on the project proposal, funding is sought for the project.
We publish project proposals on the RYTV Projects website.
If you find an interesting project proposal, you can express your willingness to participate in the project team.
3
Project Plan
A project plan is a practical work plan that guides project activities. The selected project manager is primarily responsible for creating the project plan. In the process of creating the project plan, the composition of the project team is also confirmed.
The development of the project plan is a compensable activity and marks the initial phase of the project work.
Project plans are published on the RYTV Projects website.
4
Project Start
Project work begins upon the completion of the project plan. We publish news about ongoing projects on the RYTV project program news blog.
Quick project start
1
Prerequisites
Clear project content and project plan, and funding must secured.
Consensus must exist, and funders must have a clear intention to fund this specific project.
2
Project Proposal
Can be made within the sector/group.
Well-crafted, and with calculated budget requirements.
The proposal is approved by the RYTV Steering Committee.
