Contractors Group

Contractors group has persistantly been part of buildingSMART Finland. Nowadays contractor firms such as YIT, Skanska and Lujatalo are network members. However, the goal is to engage more contractor firms to become members. Comprehensive amount of contractors firms would expand the foundation form where we can improve information modeling and standardization. Contractors group welcomes also other experts of building industry. For example views of software houses are valuable for contractors group!

Contractors group has participated in piloting and development of use cases, information modeling and procedures of the building construction. Our leading principle is to be involved in the development work of the building industry, and we strive to build a knowledge for information modeling on that basis. ​

Vision

Contractors group's one one goal is to advance automatic use of BIM, and the group wants to have a positive effect on building industry from the viewpoint of BIM. Contractors group emphasize a change in the industry. For example, use cases should change and the time span between testing and introduction should be shorter. Additionally, resources should be used to define needs and requirements because this allows that we have a clear vision on what building industry needs now and in the future.
